Meet the Leadership Team

With a client delivery pending and a mission-critical test system on the line, how can you stay on schedule without adequate staff? What can you do to pivot and start work on that test system today? How can you handle obsolete instruments plaguing your system? The answer is Hiller Measurements. From our headquarters in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, Texas, we operate on a lean and flexible basis, allowing us to adapt to our client’s design needs and schedule.

Jeff Olsen, President

Jeff has led Hiller Measurements since late 2013, having previously led aerospace and defense sales at Keysight in the Western United States. In his time at Hiller Measurements, the company has grown by more than 30X to become one of the foremost leaders in delivering world-class automated test systems and instrumentation. Prior to Keysight, he served as the Global VP Sales and Marketing at VTI Instruments (now part of Ametek), with experience in mergers & acquisitions, global channel growth, and product development. Jeff has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University.

Ben Cloutier, COO

Ben Cloutier first joined Hiller Measurement as CFO, coming with an impressive resume of corporate leadership across the aerospace ecosystem. His exemplary leadership in improving the company’s financial position while setting the vision for operational excellence as CFO made his move to COO beneficial for Hiller Measurements’ continued growth. Cloutier is a GE veteran of more than 20 years. Most recently, he was the President and Site Leader at CFAN, a GE-Safran joint venture invested in the manufacture of jet engine parts for the leading commercial aircraft flying today, where he successfully navigated the organization through a period of enormous growth.

Jay Miseli, SVP, Business Development

Jay Miseli is Senior Vice President, Business Development for Hiller Measurements. He brings 28 years of professional experience leading large, diverse organizations to accomplish a wide range of results.  Prior to joining Hiller in 2023, he served in the United States Army for over 27 years, including large-unit command, senior plans and operations, budget planning and execution, human resource management, and assistant professor of mathematics at West Point. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and the Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s degree in operations research, respectively. Jay resides in the Austin area where he can pursue his passions for mountain biking, hiking, hunting, and fly-fishing.

Darren Rees, Senior Director of Engineering

Darren Rees is the Senior Director of Engineering for Hiller Measurements. He joined in early 2023 to lead Engineering and brings close to two decades of experience with a diverse skillset of engineering and leadership roles spanning across various disciplines such as Engineering Design and Product Development, New Product Introduction and Manufacturing Operations, Customer Leadership and Program Management, Supplier Leadership and Sourcing, as well as Reliability and Quality. Coupled with a background across several industries such as Electronics, Oil & Gas, Automotive, and the Tech Industry at companies of various scales and sizes from 10’s of people to greater than 100,000 people, he is accustomed to challenges in various forms and well equipped to drive success. Outside of his career, Darren enjoys travel and activities such as skiing and biking.

Riza Deputatov, Quality Manager

Riza Deputatov joined the company in September 2023, as Quality Manager.  In this role, she leads the quality control programs sustainability strategy, with a focus on driving transformational change internally and ensuring Hiller Measurements maintains its disciplined approach to continuous improvement, evaluating and improving its systems of internal control and compliance processes. Deputatov has more than one decade of extensive experience in Quality Management Systems, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.  Prior to joining the company, she held a proven track record and solid expertise in process design management, supplier development and quality systems development with Toshiba, Regal Rexnord and Craft Group. Deputatov holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is a certified professional mechanical engineer.

Jeff McFarland, Senior Systems Engineer

In his role as Senior Systems Engineer at Hiller Measurements, Jeff McFarland analyzes customer requirements, architects technical solutions, and produces cost estimates to cover program expenses.  Jeff has a broad technical background and core competency in automated test equipment (ATE) systems engineering, including specification and statement of work (SOW) development, system level design, and proposal generation.  He is an excellent communicator with strong customer relations skills and has a successful track record of working in a team to identify and capture business.  Jeff has worked in the Test and Measurement industry for 30+ years in both engineering and management roles at firms such as VTI/AMETEK, Astronics Test Systems, Textron Systems, AAI, and Symtx.  Jeff holds BSEE (Magna Cum Laude) and MSEE degrees from the University of Arkansas.

Gene Brown, Director, Human Resources

Gene is Director of Human Resources for Hiller Measurements. He brings 30 years of professional experience that is a combination of Operations, Sales, Consulting, and Human Capital/Resources experience focused on delivering programs that drive efficiency and effectiveness of the workforce. These programs include recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and performance management of the workforce. Prior to joining Hiller Measurements, Gene spent 25+ years helping small founder led to large multi-billion organizations achieve high levels of success through Human Capital programs attributed to increasing annual net profit in excess of $50M a year. He is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in petroleum engineering. Gene resides in the Austin area and enjoys playing golf, hunting, and officiating NCAA sports.
